The German Engineering Summit organized by the VDMA is considered the leading congress for the mechanical and plant engineering industry. In 2025, the meeting was held under the motto "Producing the Future"; around 1,000 participants from companies, research, and the digital economy gathered in Berlin on September 16–17.
For aiXbrain, the summit has been a barometer for years: this year, for the first time, it was clear to everyone that artificial intelligence is no longer just a buzzword, but a business-critical issue.

Main theme in 2025 – Industry meets artificial intelligence

Instead of focusing exclusively on economic and trade issues, the 2025 summit centered on AI, digital value creation, energy efficiency, and resilience. Decision-makers from industry, science, and IT discussed data as a "new raw material," while Siemens, SAP, and T-Systems presented practical examples of data integration and AI-supported assistants.

Gregor Bransky was there on behalf of aiXbrain and talked to industry experts about how AI tools can help solve very specific problems. It became clear that linking data and knowledge can be a game changer in areas such as service and support and have a huge leverage effect!

The presentation by Lukas Schattenberg and Daniel Kessler on the service platform developed by IXON and Vecoplan fit perfectly into this picture.

It is particularly worth mentioning here that Dutch IoT equipment supplier IXON has recognized the potential of AI for industry and has therefore entered into a close partnership with aiXbrain. Both sides are convinced that together, the added value of connectivity and AI is greater than individually. We are very excited to announce the first fruits of this unique collaboration!

Outlook

Artificial intelligence is no longer a buzzword in mechanical engineering, but an urgent field of action. It is no longer just about machine learning in closed laboratory environments – AI projects are being launched on a broad scale. More than ever, it is important to bring together data structures, know-how, and, last but not least, the perspective of the end user. aiXbrain's goal is to close this gap with a modular AI platform, the integration of LLMs, and the development of agents that support specific production and service processes.

aiXbrain is staying on the ball and looks forward to another exchange in Berlin in 2026.
