For aiXbrain, attending this year's Ambition Industry in Liège was a first. We were there in person and were able to get a first impression of Wallonia as an industrial hub.
Ambition Industry itself kicked off with a clear political signal: Four prominent figures from Belgian politics kicked off the event in a panel discussion—Vanessa Matz (Federal Minister for the Public Service), Mathieu Bihet (Federal Minister for Energy), Pierre-Yves Jeholet (Vice President and Minister of Economy of Wallonia), and Frédéric Daerden (Member of Parliament and Mayor of Herstal).
The trade fair, held at Liege Expo, aims to become the central meeting place for industry in Wallonia—with the stated goal of strengthening the region as an innovative industrial hub with a promising future. The focus was on key sectors such as aerospace, as well as industry and manufacturing. The program was complemented by free workshops that specifically brought together companies, institutions, and research organizations.
The greater region around Aachen, Liège, and Maastricht is our natural market environment—cross-border, industrially oriented, and open to technology. The very companies represented at Ambition Industry—from manufacturing, mechanical engineering, and aerospace—could also be businesses for which aiXbrain's AI solutions make a measurable difference.
Especially since we already have relationships in German-speaking East Belgium, which is part of Wallonia and was also represented with a booth from its economic development agency.
Ambition Industry is certainly still a long way from matching the scale of industrial trade fairs in Germany that attract similar exhibitors and target audiences. However, the focus on AI was clearly evident here as well, among both exhibitors and visitors.

The up-and-coming exhibition grounds in Liège were able to showcase the diverse range of manufacturing capabilities of Wallonia's companies through this event. For aiXbrain, the geographical proximity to the industrial hub of Wallonia is a particularly interesting factor. And so, the event in Liège provided a good opportunity to gain an impression of the industrial offerings in eastern Belgium.
